Original Toronto Star caption: The things to be found in Plantation Antiques are varied and guaranteed to be unusual. Owner Tom Keeling shows a Persian carpet to a prospective buyer. The front porch is laden with items such as paintings; antique chairs; and Victorian clothing which the teenagers find both kicky and kooky to wear. Such items of clothing are also in demand for rental during Centennial Year by various organizations.

Frank Crane: The opera singer turned antique dealer was tired of the urban jungle so he retreated into the woods with his wife, Verena, and built himself a log cabin. And you can see the cabin Frank built! It's cathedral sized. Just the thing for housing such treasures as the Chinese tomb figure from the T'ang period (618 to 906 A.D.) which he is holding. These things are on trust, he says.

Refinishing pine tool moulds is just one of the projects 27-year-old Bill Don has taken on since he and he and his wife Bev decided to fulfil his life's dream, to run their own store. Ardith One, on Yonge St., features antiques and artifacts the pair has collected over the past two years. The young couple say that mixing marriage and business has given them something to work on for the rest of their lives.

Mr. and Mrs. Gordon H. McCullough of Etobicoke admire the two Cornelius Kriefhoff paintings that cost them $17,000 at the Collectors' Choice auction at the St. Lawrence Hall last night. The auction was estimted to have raised close to $50,000 for the National Ballet School scholarship fund. The bidding was fast and furious as Metro's 400 went all out for the paintings and antiques.
