Original Toronto Star caption: TTC trams go to land of pharaohs. Toronto streetcars bound foro Egypt are loaded on a ship at Pier 28 at the foot of Cherry St. Yesterday's shipment of 21 trams for Alexandria was the second to the United Arab Republic. Previously 15 were transported. Tht TTC hopes to dispose of 250 strretcars which became of no use when the Bloor-Danforth subway was opened. The price has been kept secret because other renotiations are in progress.
