Original Toronto Star caption: Streetcar called desirable: Area residents ride 55-year-old Peter Witt streetcar from St. Clair subway station to Eglinton Ave. to try to influence the TTC not to replace the streetcars with trolley buses on the route. Residents of the area bounded by Merton and Yonge Sts. And Eglinton and Bayview Aves. Feel streetcars are part of area's character and say differences in operational costs are not enough to remove them.
