Original Toronto Star caption: Goin nowhere fast for holiday. One of the worst hold-ups for those fleeing the city occured at Highway 401 and Kingston Rd. where the single-lane ramp for eastbound traffic caused line-ups two miles long through most of the evening. Despite the crush of traffic on arteries out of the city; no fatal accidents and few involving injuries were reported. TCA had extra flights; CPR and CNR added ears and Gary Coach Lines drew on all available buses to cope with the holiday exodus.
