Original Toronto Star caption: Rush-hour crush: The struggle to get on a streetcar at Bay and King Sts. during the rush hour. Some streetcars that are supposed to carry 80 to 90 people are squeezing in 130 during peak periods. The subway and buses are also full to overflowing at certain times of the day and TTC officials expect the boom to continue; with more than 400 million riders in 1982 and possibly half a billion five years from now.
