Original Toronto Star caption: The city of St. Malo on the coast of Brittany is a museum that cries out to be walked; explored and examined despite the fact it was ravaged and ruined during World II. Easily reached from Britain or the Channel Isles; it sits on a granite island thrust out into the sea; the walls built to repel the English still stand and serve not only as a great elevated walkway but as the base into which have been built shops and even restaurants to revive hungry visitors.
