Original Toronto Star caption: An Old Man Danges amid the fumes of incense and gunpowder as Indians of Chichicastenango; a Guatemalan village famous for its markets; offer harvest thanksgiving in the old Maya manner. But in an old mingling of rites; the dance is held on the steps of Santo Tomas Church. In his hands he carries a wooden statue and a bamboo globe which shoots fireworks into the crowd.
