Original Toronto Star caption: Elephant races are part of the program at a rodeo in the jungles of Thailand; an informal sort of affair where the tourists are vastly outnumbered by the locals; who look upon the event as a highlight of the year. One of the contests pitted an elephant against 175 men of the Thai army in a tug-of-war. They could slow him down but they couldn't stop him and he won all the heats handily.
