Original Toronto Star caption: Wales' miniature festiniog railway runs from the harbor at Portmadoc up into the mountains of Snowdonia and gives visitors to the northern part of the country a chance to see the real Wales of farms and sheep and shepherds and mountains and valleys. The fare for the trip is only $2 and there's an added bonus for the traveller who hits the district on a Sunday when some pubs are closed. You can buy a drink on the railway quite legally if you're taking a trip.
