This scene inside the Senate chamber shows the Earl of Athlone as he read the speech from the throne, opening the second session of Canada's 19th parliament. Seated on the dais with him is Prncess Alice. At his excellency's right is Prime Minister King, and on the opposite side Senator Raoul Dandurand.
