Original Toronto Star caption: Environment minister James Auld took a snowmobile ride yesterday to tour 470 acres of farmland in the Port Hope area that may become landfill site for Metro's garbage. The proposal is for 400,000 tons of Metro garbage to be dumped annually at the site. He heard crowd of 150 cheer, one person who described garbage plan as Toronto's filthy disgusting effort to saturate our land with their effluent.
