Original Toronto Star caption: Losing candidate Trustee Ray Argyle (right) congratulates Mayor Paul Cosgrove last night after the mayor won the Liberal party nomination for the federal riding of York-Scarborough. He defeated Argyle 516-294 on the first ballot in the packed auditorium at Stephen Leacock Collegiate. Cosgrove, 42, was first elected to Scarborough Council as alderman in 1969. He has been mayor since 1972. Cosgrove foresees a June election.
