Original Toronto Star caption: A point about pollution is made by Mayor William Dennison to 30 Grade 7 students from St. Andrew's School in Rexdale as he points out the window of his office at the 300-foot smokestack of Hydro's Richard Hearn generating plant. The students, protesting pollution, had made special mention of it. Mayor Dennison defended Hydro's plans to build a higher stack, which he said would remove more dirt from the smoke and ease pollution in central Toronto.
