Original Toronto Star caption: Joseph Gause shows off his boat; the Gausefin; at Oakville. He says he's going to cross the Atlantic Ocean in it without benefit of sail or motor. The six fins on the side of the boat are supposed to convert the up-and-down motion of the waves into forward propulsion. He's crossed Lake Ontario twice at 5 knots while impressed officials of the defence and transport departments looked on.
