Original Toronto Star caption: Queen's Plate trophy for winning colt Whistling Sea was presented to Calgary owner Paul Olivier by the Queen Mother Saturday; as Mrs. Olivier; at extreme left; watched proudly. Whistling Sea; almost an unknown in Canadian racing; was the first horse to come out of the west and win the nation's richest; most important prize. His take was $47;693 and he led most of the way. The Queen Mother remarked to Olivier that only an especially good horse can set its own pace.
