Original Toronto Star caption: Since dawn vast throngs had waited in Montreal to see this scene; as the King and Queen stepped through the doorway of Park Avenue station. The previous night police had been forced to clear the station of people who came with blankets; prepared to spend the night. They came again in the early morning; still laden with blankets against the cold; including one old lady who sat by the door for eight hours to see the royal arrival.
