Wong pursued graduate studies the following year at New York University, earning his Master’s degree in 1936. He was further accepted as a PhD student at the University of Toronto, and admitted into Canada through Niagara Falls in 1937. Wong was one of very few Chinese people permitted entry to the United States and Canada in the 1930s.
