Original Toronto Star caption: That upraised trumpet?one of his identifying characteristics?is held high by Dizzy Gillespie during one of his numbers last night at the Colonial. Star critic Patrick Scott was unimpressed. He blasts Dizzy for the ''complete absence of anything resembling spontaneity, rhythmic drive or warmth.'' Gillespie can no longer conceal the fact that he stopped progessing 25 years ago, says Scott.
