Original Toronto Star caption: End of the road: Relatives help Jose Gomes move his belongings from his house on Argyle St., built in 1975 without a permit, before the city sends in a demolition crew to tear it down. At right, Gomes leads his weeping wife from the Courthouse after losing a legal battle to save his home. It's the first action of its kind ever taken by the City of Toronto. The home is worth about $140,000.
