When photographer Colin McConnell arrived at 7 a.m. that day he discovered Guilbeault and his dog standing behind the same counter where he had grabbed his gun and shot the robber in the head. McConnell had the first photograph of Guilbeault who, ironically, sold morning newspapers carrying the stories of the previous night's event.
