Original Toronto Star caption: An architect-designed showplace mansion in French provincial style, built 22 years ago on Heath St., at Avenue Rd., is under wrecker's hammer to make way for luxury condomonium tower. Three other adjoining houses also are being torn down. The view, above, shows rear of building with swimming pool and screening trees. Ironically, it was owned by a senator who said four years ago: ''We shall stick it out. I shall not sell to apartment developers.''

Ordering wreckers away yesterday fromhis expropriated home (in background), Jack Coltman, 60, argues with William Wasylyk (left), the owner of Lakeview Salvage Co., and Constable John Buchanan. Coltman says he has received no settlement yet for his expropriated property on Balfour Ave. and believes under this condition he can claim new rights under recent provincial expropriation legislation. His home was one of nine expropriated for new seperate school.
