Original Toronto Star caption: Allison Higson, Canada's 13-year-old swimming sensation, wasn't quite up to her normal standards last night in the sixth annual North York Aquatic Club Youth Cup at the Etobicoke Olympium. The usually brilliant Higson, competing for the Etobicoke Swim Club, finished first in the 200-metre freestyle, but could do no better than third in both the 50-metre freestyle and the 200-metre butterfly. Meantime, two meet standards were rewritten during the competition?Brantford's Shay McNichol and Helen Lovoie of Montreal were the record-breakers.
