The three sons of Mr. and Mrs. Wilkinson of Worcestershire grew up to be good men: John was placed in business, Henry took holy orders, and Julius joined the army. Julius was sent to America, ''at that time the seat of civil contention''. He lost a leg, his regiment was vanquished, but General Washington permitted Julius to return to France. On his arrival in London he recounted the story of his faithful native servant who lost his life in saving his master's.
