Ring-necked duck (female)
A duck swimming in profile in foreground, more birds flying in V-shaped formation in the background. The duck is brown, with a white chest and belly, and darker feathers on the back. The feet are grey. The eye is yellow. The black beak has a white ring near the eyes and a thicker, grey ring about two-thirds of the way from the tip. In this painting, the background is rendered in light-coloured pen and ink, the bird in the foreground is coloured with watercolour.
