Original Toronto Star caption: Caledon East, Nov. 16 - Veterans of Branch 292 of the Canadian Legion are building their own clubhouse with their own hands and and their own material. They already have finished their own cenotaph - except for granite facing. Nearly all helpers are on war work every day each week. ''There have been 27 of us working at it,'' said William Atwell, vice-president. ''Some of us didn't know much about carpentring [sic] before we started. We made the cenotaph of cement and it will be faced with granite. It has 17 names and is illuminated at night. At the other side of the lot we will build a cenotaph for those who fall in this war.'' When completed the new hall will seat some 300 people. It will be used as a community centre in addition to veterans' gatherings, said Mr. Atwell. The material mostly comes from the old hall previously used by veterans.
