Original Toronto Star caption: On his way to winning Can-Am race at Mosport yesterday is Charlie Kemp of Jackson, Miss., who leads a group of cars around the first turn after passing the grandstand. Kemp, who drove a turbo-charged Royal Crown Porsche 917-10, won $15,000 in his first race as a fulltime professional driver before an enormous crowd of more than 60,000 fans, the largest ever to see a sports attraction in Canada.
