Not this time

Original Toronto Star caption: Not this time: Chicago Blackhawks' Wayne Presley is foiled on this first-period scoring attempt by the Maple Leafs' Ken Wreggett last night at the Gardens. This sort of thing didn't happen too often in that opening 20-minute session, as the Blackhawks took advantage of some sloppy work by the Leafs in their own end to race to a 5-0 lead. Coach John Brophy replaced Wreggett with Allan Bester at the start of the second period and the Leafs did manage to get back into the game. But it was the old story of too little, too late as the Hawks hung on for a 6-3 win.
