Original Toronto Star caption: Love-hate relationship of Canadians with the automobile is key to planning future development on Yonge St., prominent Toronto architect Eberhard Zeidler told members of Downtown Business Council. Designer of Eaton Centre told merchants that banning the car from downtown will not work. But it can be moved elsewhere if survival of Yonge St. is at stake, he said, and introduced once pedestrians have enough space.
