Original Toronto Star caption: It's a sellout for Jays' opener. Toronto Blue Jays are virtually assured of a 40,000- seat sellout for their American Basebal League debut in opening game of season at Exhibition Stadium on April 7. They've already sold 30,000 reserved seats, and yesterday when they put 10,000 bleacher seats on sale for $2 each, there were only a few hundred left at end of the day. Crowds were lined up early in the morning waiting for stadium box office to open at 2 p.m. Jays will be facing the Chicago White Sox.
