Original Toronto Star caption: It's a hit. They aren't wearing the traditional uniform, but these aren't traditinal cricket players. At Toronto Skating and Curling Club, the women are moving onto male terrain - and challenging the men at their own game. Wicket-keeper Ricki Edwards and batsperson Bey Johnston are two members of the informal group (mostly professional women) that will take on one of the club's male cricket teams in about two weeks. They aren't too expert yet - they practise only in the evening from time to time - but they're picking up the rules and, obviously, having a lot of fun. A male-versus-female match should make the traditional cricket tea-break a lot more interesting too.
