Original Toronto Star caption: His neck scarred by skate cut that severed his jugular vein,-18-year-old Kim Crouch approves the neck protector designed by his father, Whitby Fire Chief Ed Crouch. The father had begun planning a neck guard before Kim was injured two months ago while playing goal in Junior a Hockey and was saved only by the fast action of the team trainer. Four young hockey players have died of neck injuries.
