Original Toronto Star caption: Closing in: Maple Leaf goalie Mike Palmateer comes out from the net to foil this scoring attempt by Rick Middleton of Boston Bruins at the Gardens last night. But Middleton did manage to get an assist on Bruins' first goal of the night, by Wayne Cashman midway through the first period. Boston shut out the Leafs, 2-0, the last goal going into an empty net.
