Original Toronto Star caption: More than $100,000 a year is donated by Oshawa for the upkeep of gardens and grounds at Parkwood, the former home of Robert Samuel McLaughlin, founder and board chairman of General Motors of Canada, who died five years ago at the age of 100. It has become the city's foremost tourist attraction. It reopened yesterday for the 1977 season. Paul Maher of London and Jessie Phippard (above) of Oshawa, were among the first visitors. It was built 60 years ago.

Campbell, 55, has been operating a food bank out of his family's Brampton apartment for more than a year, providing a conduit for mountains of donated food.
