Former governor general Roland Michener, 83, left, and Royal Ontario Museum chairman Eddie Goodman head off on a ceremonial lap of the Varsity Stadium field to start the third annual Run for ROM, a 24-hour relay through Toronto. The money will go toward equipment for new gallery space. More than 1,350 runners are taking part and pledges can be made at the stadium or 978-8782.
