Original Toronto Star caption: Oldest resident remembers when Mississaugas had their own reserve. Arthur B. Harris, who is in his 88th year and lays claim to be the oldest resident in Clarkson, remembers the day when the Mississauga Indians had their reservation on the banks of the Credit River. He regrets that the old log council house and church were not preserved as figures of historical interest. Photographs here show: (1) View of the Indian village which stood on the site of the Mississauga Golf Club north of Port Credit. (2) Arthur B. Harris. (3) Typical residence in the days when the Indian village flourished. (4) Old Credit Mission in the days of Peter Jones, the Indian preacher. On the left is shown the school and council house, centre is the church and on the right is Peter Jones study.
