The bonfire. ''Tales of the village children''--head of title. The boys of the village school spent the vicar's money for fireworks instead of faggots for a Guy Fawkes bonfire, and thereby set fire to a widow's rick. The vicar helped them repay the damages resulting from their disobedience. The frontispiece is engraved on wood. The upper paper wrapper bears the imprint of James Burns only.
