Original Toronto Star caption: New help for 'blue babies'. Heart surgeon Dr. William T. Mustard demonstrates on an outsize plastic model of a heart a new way to reroute the bloodstream of blue babies. The wrongly-sited internal wall is cut away and replaced by a new wall made from skin that normally surrounds the heart. He told members of the Ontario Heart Foundation at Toronto Hospital for Sick Children the method already has saved two babies.
