Original Toronto Star caption: Liberal leader Robert Nixon, whose party took 20 seats instead of the 40 he had expected, says, I believe many seats I counted on were lost on a 'beat-the-NDP' basis. Some workers told him they couldn't get people to vote Liberal because they feared the New Democratic Party would get in. And I don't mean to sound bitter, said Nixon--the nice guy, listening to the election results last night.
