He's back now to audition the cast for a new musical based on the play, Harvey, about a fantastical white rabbit. O'Connor is used to working with animals, he co-starred with a 'talking mule', Francis, for five movies until replaced by Mickey Rooney.

Uncle Frank Dawson tends to one of his injured wildfowl at his 3 3/4-acre conservation area on Elmcrest Rd. The 83-year-old bachelor has been patching up injured birds for as long as anyone can remember. With a small creek running through the back, his property has become a haven for hundreds of waterfowl. He has lived in the same house for over 50 years and has raised a varietyof birds. But Dawson can't recall when people started to bring birds to him, he said.
