Original Toronto Star caption: The wrong way to develop ballet skills is demonstrated by 14-year-old Nathalie Caris at the National Ballet School under the disapproving eye of Betty Oliphant, director and principal. Knees, lower spine and ankles are unduly strained. The right way would show an unrestrained flow of the back, feet pointing slightly forward and knees just slightly bent, Miss Oliphant says.
