Original Toronto Star caption: In helpless hopeless despair for three years, Bertram Proulx, 24, who thought permanently crippled by a car accident, is expected to walk again, thanks to an operation performed by Toronto surgeon Dr. Gordon Murray which repaired Proulx's severed spinal cord. He can now stand and use arms.
