The maid and the magpie : a pathetic tale, founded upon a well-known fact : being the affecting history of an innocent female, who was sentenced to death on strong circumstantial evidence of stealing various articles of plate, and afterwards proved to be innocent .... ''On which is founded the much approved Entertainment, now performing at the Theatres Royal with unbounded applause.''--t.-p. ''Price Six-pence.'' According to P.A.H. Brown's London publishers and printers, Dean and Munday worked together on Threadneedle street from ca. 1811 to 1847. The publication appears to be from the earlier part of that range. An adaptation of ''La pie voleuse; ou, La servante de Palaiseau'' of L.C. Caigniez and J. M. T. Baudouin. Original wrappers are wanting.
