Original Toronto Star caption: The Ugly Side of Toronto: Gnarled jungle of store signs and forest of hydro poles block downtown shoppers' view on Spadina Ave. at Queen St. (left). More modern Don Mills high-rise scene shows little improvement over the past as hydro transmission pylons on Gateway Blvd. still manage to blot out most of the landscape. Pas and present, ugliness remains. Perhaps future planners can avoid this.
