Original Toronto Star caption: New Anglican Bishop consecrated in metro. As scarlet-robed bishops of the Anglican Church surround him for the laying-on-of-hands ceremony, Rt. Rev. Allan Alexander Read, 48, is consecrated Suffragan (assistant) Bishop for the Anglican Diocese of Toronto in St. James Cathedral yesterday by the Metropolitan of Ontario, Archbishop W. L. Wright, of Algoma. Read joins Rt. Rev. L. S. Garnsworthy in assiting Bishop G. B. Snell in diocese work.
