Original Toronto Star caption: Hon. Albert. No sooner had President Roosevelt's promise of aid from the United States to Canada, should it be threatened by an aggressor, been spoken at Queen's university in Kingston today than the whole empire applauded. The speech was delivered before many of the president's close friends. One of the closest, Premier King (LEFT), was at Kingston station to welcome him officially to Canadian soil. With Lieutenant-Governor Albert Matthews, Mr. Roosevelt motored the two miles from the station at Kingston to university stadium in a specially built car which was brought for his use by the United States secret service whose men drove and guarded it. This picture was taken shortly before the 40-car procession left the station on schedule. [Incomplete]
