One of great Canadian Oil Sands Ltd.'s longterm shareholders, Howard Bertram holds bronze alloy medallion given him and other shareholders as token of thanks by tar sands development firm. The company had a difficult first decade operating its tar sands plant and investors also have taken their lumps. No dividends have been paid on common stock and shareholders watched stock hit alltime high of $17, then fell to current price of $5.

Before entering annual meeting of Traders Group, company chairman Henry Dynes gets a carnation for his lapel from employee Dorothy Tustin. Dynes received prolonged applause from shareholders when he said: Be we Liberal, Conservative or NDP, we and our elected representatives must endorse one position - that of a united Canada. He advocated non-partisan committee to work toward unity.

Maple Leaf Mills Ltd. president and chief executive R. G. Dale, offers some of company's products to shareholder Gina Wigle, 17, of Etobicoke, at firm's annual meeting yesterday at Harbour Castle Hotel, only a short distance from company's head office at 417 Queen's Quay West. The baked goodies were tangible evidence of recent takeover of Pillsbury Canada Ltd. which was acquired by Maple Leaf Mills last month.
