The Belcourt family, Patricia, Marc, and children Lisa, 3, and Stephen, 7-stand outside their house in West Hill which they sold for $54,000, only to find 10 days later it had been resold for $63,000. Belcourt has asked the Supreme Court of Ontario to cancel the first sale and refund the $2,700 real estate commission. They have been offered the $9,000 and the commission out of court.

Doreen MacDonald picked up a toaster from a pile of battered appliances in the Qeen St. E. Soup-to-nuts junk store run by Jack Himself Cohen. One dollar. Himself said. Does it work? Doreen asked. I don't know. Why don't you plug it in and find out? All I do is sell as is. You won't plug it in? No. Doreen paid the $1 and once again proved Himself's credo: I don't polish anything. I learned my lesson when I polished the $25 special finish off a candelabra early in business. Since then I sell everything just as it is. [Incomplete]

Ken Challis (left) of Mississauga and his wife, Lee, are reunited with his brother, Ernie, who didn't even know Ken existed. Ken, who grew up in foster homes, knew he bad a brother and sister but didn't know where they were. A chance conversation in the town offices enabled him to meet his sister-in-law.

He is one of three principals in the firm which subdivides farm land, and then aggressively sells lots with the slogan Own a Piece of Canada. A team of Star investigators has disclosed that titles to many of the Whiterock Estates lots are faulty.
