Colorful Dan Casey, executive director of the Ontario Liberal party, gleefully admits he's packed a meeting or two himself, but it's his job to see it doesn't happen at Ontario meetings where voting delegates to the leadership convention will be chosen. Big Jim Leeson parks his Cessna Skyplane, zips up his jacket and goes to pay a house call. By flying, Wiarton's Dr. Leeson figures he's beaten one of the biggest problems facing the progessive rural doctor today: Isolation from his colleagues and the big city medical centres. With his Cessna he can hop down to Toronto in an hour for a lecture. Still, he admits, a rural practice might not be every doctor's cup of tea, I'm a farm boy myself...I'm used to it, he says.

Twice the fun: Ken Christofi, owner of Toronto's Bauhaus night club and seen here with niece Tanna, 3, had his 1974. Beetle painted VW Bug blue (it was white), the same colour as the VW his father had when Christofi was a boy in Cyprus. His New Beetle, a turbodiesel model, is white. Chriscofi admits he loves the bells and whistles and comfort of the '90s remake.
