Alternative title derived from Toronto Public Library forty-ninth annual report 1932, page 9. Image itself was published on page 17. Erratum on page [3] notes: "Through an unfortunate mishap in the preparation of this Report for printing the legends under the engravings showing the mural decorations on the walls of the Earlscourt Branch Library (pp 9 and 17) became transposed."

 

Visible here are the murals for “Philosophy” (left, south wall, east end), showing “devotees of thought in profound discussion;” "The Community” (centre, south wall, centre): “Children, youths and maidens are closely seated around a reader who stands leaning against the bole of a tree, while scattered out to the side and front are the more mature members all listening with absorbed interest;” and visible are “Nature Study” (right, south wall, west end).
