Inquiries of an emigrant: being the narrative of an English farmer from the year 1824 to 1830; with the author's additions, to March, 1832; during which period he traversed the United States and Canada, with a view to settle as an emigrant: containing observations on the manners, soil, climate, and husbandry of the Americans; estimates of outfit, charges of voyage, and travelling expenses. [4] pages of publisher's advertisemetns, bound in at front, 34 pages at back, not included in collation. ''Persons emigrating to foreign part'' (1 leaf) pasted to front lining paper. Pages 58-207 deal with Canada. Label on cover reads: Pickering's emigrant's guide to Canada. Fourth edition, with the author's additions to March, 1832.
